Departmental Profile: The Department of Sanskrit started its journey with an M.A programme in 1995. M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes were launched in 1998 and 1999 respectively. Since its day of inception, the department through its multifaceted activities related to teaching and research has been engaged in popularizing the study of Sanskrit language and literature. The department regularly organizes seminars and workshops to highlight the rich cultural heritage of India. Sanskrit speaking courses are also organized by the department to enable learners speak simple Sanskrit. Teaching and research activities in the department cover areas like Vedic studies, aesthetic and literary studies, and also studies on Indian cultural, philosophical and scientific traditions.

ii] M.Phil   (by course work & dissertation).    Duration : Three Semesters.  No. of seats :  15
